As part of the Diesel Wall competition I created this piece to be put onto the side of the Urbis building in Manchester.
As Manchester is known for its rain and its music, I decided to combine these two elements in this piece. I took a lyric from infamous Manchester band Oasis, putting emphasis on the strong Mancunian accent that Liam has when saying the word sunshine. In this new context the lyric takes on a new meaning: that we often have to wait a long time for some nice weather in Manchester. As the area outside of Urbis is always full of youths this piece serves as a message to them and the rest of Manchester: to enjoy the good weather when it’s here.
